Around the Web #4

Hi guys! Hope everyone had a good week and is ready for the weekend! I know I am, even though it was a short week due to the Labor Day holiday this past Monday. The weather suddenly turned a tad cooler, and I can almost feel the summer waning out… It’s a bit sad, but then fall is the time of year to cozy up with a nice cup of tea, or coffee [did I mention the Pumpkin Spice is back at Starbucks already!?] and a good book of course! And that is just my plan this weekend – to catch up on some good reads!  By the way, here’s a round-up of webby links from this week. Lots of things going on…

Amazon, Kindle, Goodreads, and Netflix for Books…
So, Amazon is coming out with a new Kindle Paperwhite, and it’s finally taking advantage of the recently acquired Goodreads social networking platform incorporating it on Kindle. Now you can read, rate, review, and keep track of your books all on one handy device.

If that wasn’t exciting enough, Amazon is also about to launch its Matchbook service by offering discounted eBooks for print book owners. But other companies are not far behind in catching up with eBook consumers. Oyster just launched a Netflix for Books service!

TV and Movie News
Fifty Shades of Grey
Charlie Hunnam and Dakota Johnson cast as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie adaptation. Fans react with Change.org petition. Is this a new trend, to be perpetually unhappy with casting or am I missing something?
