STARTING FEBRUARY 2014 COME VISIT ME AT NOCTURNAL BOOK REVIEWS! (TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS TRANSITION, CHECK OUT MY 1ST BLOGOVERSARY & *BIG* ANNOUNCEMENT POST.)

About Me:
Hi guys! My name is Victoria (aka Zemfirka).

Born and raised in Moscow, Russia I’ve been living stateside for some thirteen years now, along with my husband and two adorable dogs (whose sole mission in life seems divided among unconditional love and adoration interspersed with episodes of minor mischief). The two jolly troublemakers are often there to keep me company while I spend hours cooking, reading, and writing; while my husband is always there to help taste test and provide helpful suggestions on everything else and more (yes! We are an opinionated bunch).

So one day feeling incredibly adventurous I have decided to give blogging a shot – and the rest, as said, is history, albeit very recent. I’ve been blogging ever since (or more precisely since February 8, 2013!) It’s been an incredible, although at times, challenging journey but I sincerely enjoy every minute of it. For me, as the blog’s headline might suggest it’s been first and foremost an experiment, a challenge in writing, but it is also about my passion and love for books and cooking.

I have a long-nurtured love for books and am an avid reader. Aside from reading, I spend a great deal of time ogling and admiring everything from kitchenware to purrty cookbooks (for which I have an almost unhealthy passion). Thus, the idea behind the content of the blog came to be and I am happy to share with you my thoughts and feelings about some of the recent books I’ve read, as well as share an occasional recipe or two.

I’m very happy you’ve stopped by my blog and hope you enjoy a book review and/or a recipe you’ve found here. Feel free to leave me a comment – I’d love to hear from you! And you can always, find me on Goodreads, Twitter, and Pinterest.

Thank you for stopping by & I hope to see you soon!

Victoria, xoxo

  1. Those two little dogs look like they're joined at the hip.

    1. Haha! They do in this picture. ;) Although, this is a rare occurrence for them, they usually don't like to share space at all!

    1. Thanks Valeria! I couldn't pick between the two, so decided I'll have the best of both worlds.
