Around the Web #11

Hi guys! Hope everyone had a great week trick or treating, dressing up, and eating indecent amounts of candy. So while you recover from you sugar high check out my round up of webby links from the past week.

I’m off to vacation next week. I have a few posts scheduled to keep you entertained while I’m away so help spread the word for me since I’ll probably have limited connectivity. Have fun and I’ll see you in a week. Adiós!

Around the Web #10

Allegiant
Guess what? The wait is over and Allegiant (Divergent #3) by Veronica Roth has finally arrived! I was eagerly awaiting it myself, and am savoring my read, but the response to the last chapter of the Divergent saga has been varied, and often harsh. As I gathered from the storm of Twitter comments and other social media outlets, an important character death at the conclusion of the series upset a lot of people. So, here are a few articles on the series, and Allegiant in particular, as well as Veronica’s response to reader reaction.

Around the Web #9

Hi guys! I must apologize for being a bit quiet this week. Work was unexpectedly busy this past week, which sidetracked me off of my reading/writing schedule. Fear not though, I have some great reviews in the works and next week Allegiant will finally be here - woohoo! I can’t wait to read it and just hope it was worth the wait. Have a good weekend!

Around the Web #8

Hi guys! The weekend is finally here and I’m happy to share with you some news around the web in this week’s round-up.

Booklovers Anonymous
The last two books I’ve read were absolutely fabulous [reviews next week!] and I feel almost restored and inspired. But now, the wait for the next book in the series begins all over again. Yup, I admit reading series is addicting, and reading good series is even worse because you can’t help but wait for the next book with eager anticipation, counting months, days, hours, minutes… You get the idea and Buzzfeed knows exactly how we, addicts booklovers, feel.

Gail Carriger
Gail Carriger’s novel, Soulless turned four on Tuesday, October 1! If you haven’t read Soulless (Parasol Protectorate #1) – you are missing out! Gail writes fabulous books, with some amazing characters – both Alexia and Lord Conall Maccon make my list of top favorites. [Check out my review here].

Around the Web #6

A brand new round-up of webby links: from banned books, new technologies, to movies and a bit of controversy.

Goodreads
Recently, there has been a lot of controversy surrounding the new Review Guidelines at Goodreads. The new policy certainly roused the book-loving community and raised many questions. But whether you agree or not, it’s always best to be informed. So here are the rules, the discussions, and a great post on the subject.

Around the Web #5

Well… Hello there! Sorry, I’m a bit late this week with this post, it’s been a hectic week at work, but all is good now. I’ve finally gotten to my computer and here I am, once again, eager to share the webby links from the week past.

*Just a quick note, I’m off to jolly Canada next week for work, and it might be a bit quiet around here. But, fear not, dear friends – I shall be back!

Around the Web #4

Hi guys! Hope everyone had a good week and is ready for the weekend! I know I am, even though it was a short week due to the Labor Day holiday this past Monday. The weather suddenly turned a tad cooler, and I can almost feel the summer waning out… It’s a bit sad, but then fall is the time of year to cozy up with a nice cup of tea, or coffee [did I mention the Pumpkin Spice is back at Starbucks already!?] and a good book of course! And that is just my plan this weekend – to catch up on some good reads!  By the way, here’s a round-up of webby links from this week. Lots of things going on…

Around the Web #3

Hi guys! I’m going to be honest and say that I’ve been slacking this week. Well, perhaps “slacking” is not quite the right word for it, but I’ve taken some time off from work and internet, and unfortunately reading. But, I’m determined to fix it in the coming weeks, especially the reading part. But for now, I’m spending a lovely long weekend with family and friends, and I hope so are you.

Happy Labor Day!

Around the Web #2

As another week bids us adieu, here are some news and stories spreading across the web.

Keep Calm
How the hell did I miss this? There is an actual app that lets you create those awesome “Keep Calm” posters that have been spreading around the web and everywhere else like rapid fire. How cool is that! And, I’m not even going to let you know how much time I killed playing around with this. Proceed at your own risk.

Around the Web #1

Hi guys! Those of you who follow Zemfirka Blogs on Facebook know that I share a lot of curious links, articles, images, as well as my blog posts. And I thought it would be nice to do a round-up of great webby things over here as well. So, here it is, my new Around the Web post. I’m going to say it will be a regular post, perhaps even a weekly one, but I will try not to get ahead of myself and we will see how it goes. In any case, I’m happy to hear your thoughts regarding this so feel free to chime in!
